The D4 Naval Architecture Engineering Technology Study Program (TRKP) of the Vocational School, Diponegoro University, once again demonstrated its commitment to improving educational quality and developing student competencies through collaboration with the Center for Fisheries Capture. The collaboration activity was held on Thursday, May 1, in the meeting room of the Vocational School of Diponegoro University and was attended by lecturers, educational staff, and representatives from the Center for Fisheries Capture. This collaboration became one of the concrete steps taken by the TRKP Study Program to expand partnerships with institutions engaged in the maritime and fisheries sectors. The cooperation is expected to provide opportunities for students to gain direct practical experience, understand the operational systems of fishing vessels, and become familiar with technologies and equipment used in the modern fisheries industry.
In her remarks, Dr. Zulfaidah Ariany stated that collaboration between educational institutions and industry is very important in supporting students’ learning processes. According to her, students not only need theoretical understanding in the classroom but also field experience to face the continuously developing industrial world. She also explained that the TRKP Study Program focuses on ship construction, marine engineering systems, and maritime technology. Therefore, cooperation with the Center for Fisheries Capture is considered an important effort to broaden students’ knowledge regarding fishing vessels and their operational systems. Although the activity was conducted on May 1, which coincided with International Labor Day and a national holiday, the event proceeded smoothly and enthusiastically. This reflected the strong commitment and enthusiasm of both parties in supporting the advancement of vocational education in the maritime and fisheries sectors.
The event took place in a warm and friendly atmosphere. Discussions were held regarding opportunities for collaboration in education, research, community service, and industrial internship programs for students. In addition, a souvenir exchange ceremony was conducted as a symbol of the good relationship between the TRKP Study Program of the Vocational School UNDIP and the Center for Fisheries Capture.Through this collaboration, students are expected to gain broader learning experiences, particularly in fishing vessel design and construction, marine engineering systems, onboard occupational safety, and modern fishing technology. These experiences are expected to improve students’ competencies so they can compete in the professional world after completing their education.
Besides benefiting students, this collaboration also serves as an effort to support the development of competent human resources in the maritime and fisheries sectors. Through synergy between education and industry, TRKP graduates are expected to become professional personnel who are ready to face challenges in both national and international maritime industries. This collaboration activity also proves that the Vocational School of Diponegoro University continuously strives to provide practice-based education aligned with industrial needs. The TRKP Study Program hopes that the good relationship with the Center for Fisheries Capture will continue through various academic activities and training programs in the future.
