The D4 Naval Architecture Engineering Technology Study Program (TRKP), Vocational School of Diponegoro University, once again organized an academic and career development activity through a Success Story Seminar entitled “From Campus to Site: Navigating Success in the World of Welding Inspection.” This activity was part of the study program’s commitment to providing students with industrial insight, motivation, and real-world perspectives regarding career opportunities in the welding inspection and international shipbuilding industries. The activity conducted was a motivational and career development seminar titled Success Story Seminar. The seminar discussed the career journey of a TRKP alumnus who successfully built an international career in the field of QA/QC Welding and Piping Inspection. During the seminar, participants gained knowledge about the working environment in welding inspection, welding quality control procedures, the responsibilities of a welding inspector, and the challenges faced in industrial and shipyard projects. In addition, the seminar highlighted the importance of technical competence, communication skills, discipline, field experience, and professional certifications in competing within the global industrial sector. Through this seminar, students were encouraged to continuously improve both their academic performance and practical skills during their studies.
The seminar was organized by the D4 Naval Architecture Engineering Technology Study Program (TRKP), Vocational School of Diponegoro University. The event featured Alvin Akbar Isnentyanto, S.T. as the main speaker, a TRKP alumnus who is currently working at Qatar Shipyard Technology Solutions as a QA/QC Welding/Piping Inspector. During the seminar, the speaker shared his career journey starting from his college years, field practice experiences, and his professional experiences working in the international industry. The participants consisted of TRKP students, lecturers, and members of the academic community who are interested in welding inspection, ship construction, and the maritime industry. The seminar was held on Friday, May 8th, 2026, at 1:00 PM WIB. The event consisted of several sessions, including the opening ceremony, material presentation, experience sharing session, interactive discussion, and question-and-answer session with participants.
The seminar took place in Room A 3.3, Vocational School of Diponegoro University. In addition to the offline session, the event was also conducted online through the Zoom Meeting platform, allowing participants from different locations to join the seminar conveniently.m The seminar was conducted to provide students with insight and motivation regarding career opportunities in welding inspection and the international shipbuilding industry. The study program intended to present real experiences from a successful alumnus so that students could gain a clearer understanding of professional life after graduation. Furthermore, the activity aimed to improve students’ readiness in facing global industrial competition, especially in the field of QA/QC Welding and Piping Inspection. The presence of an alumnus who has successfully worked in an international company was expected to inspire students to continuously develop their competencies, enhance their technical skills, and prepare themselves for future professional careers.
The seminar was carried out through a presentation and direct experience-sharing session delivered by the speaker. Alvin Akbar Isnentyanto, S.T. explained his career journey from being a university student to becoming a QA/QC Welding/Piping Inspector at Qatar Shipyard Technology Solutions. He also explained the duties and responsibilities of a welding inspector, welding inspection procedures in industrial projects, workplace challenges, and experiences working on international projects. After the presentation session, the activity continued with an interactive discussion and question-and-answer session between participants and the speaker. During the discussion session, students actively asked questions regarding professional certifications, overseas job opportunities, experiences in international industries, and tips for building a successful career starting from university life. Through this seminar, participants gained valuable knowledge, practical insights, and motivation to continue improving their abilities in order to compete in the global industrial sector, especially in ship construction and welding inspection fields.
